President Donald Trump has pledged that an orderly transition of power will take place on January 20 when President-elect Joe Biden takes office.
It comes after Trump supporters attacked the Capitol in Washington DC Wednesday, delaying certification of Biden's win.
The statement was released early Thursday by Dan Scavino, White House social media director. Trump himself was blocked from posting to his own account in the wake of the violence.
