A 225-foot Russian navy ship was converted into a luxury superyacht named Olivia that's now on sale for nearly around R470 million with Burgess Yachts.

The navy ship was first assembled in 1972 by Finnish maker Laivateollisuus to serve as a hydrographic surveying vessel for the Russian Navy. However, the ship found new life in 2011 when it was transformed into its new state as a luxury yacht with amenities like a 12-person jacuzzi and sun pads for comfortable lounging under the sun.

Olivia's transformation was completed by Rouvia Road Yacht Design and Construction and Droulers Architecture, focusing on both the interior and exterior of the ice-class navy ship.

The plush amenities and design aboard Olivia disguise, but pay homage, to the yacht's previous life.

Take a look.

Olivia is powered by a 2,000 horsepower engine.

This gives the ship a top speed of 15 knots, and a cruising speed of 12 knots, according to Burgess Yachts.
