Local up-and-coming acts are vying to be included on the line-up of this year’s hottest festival – Afropunk, to be held on December 30 and 31 at Constitution Hill – and play alongside the likes of Solange and Anderson Paak. Come and support your favourite act.

Miss Soweto 2017 Crowning

The Miss Soweto extravaganza is one of the most anticipated events on the calendar and this year promises to be no different. See which beauty will be crowned the winner at this glitsy gala.

Orlando Pirates vs Golden Arrows

Extreme Festival Grand Finale

Come along for some racing spectating. There are several categories, including Sasol Global Touring Cars, G&H Transport Extreme Supercars, the Autobarn SuperHatch, Volkswagen Challenge, 111 Sports & Saloons and the Bridgestone Challenge. There’ll be loads of kiddies’ entertainment, food stalls, a beer garden and live music. Fun for the whole family.

This 15-year-old market is an annual fundraiser for this organisation, which looks after disabled adults. It provides the finest craftsmen and women with a space to sell and exhibit. Entrance is free and there are bargains in abundance.

Open Water Festival

Think about floating on a river … in Joburg! Accompanied by good music, a river cruise, giraffes in the background and delicious picnic treats. This sounds too good to be true. Bring a lilo.
