7 times Prince Harry took our breath away while playing polo in Cape Town

Cape Town - Prince Harry had a rather distinguished crowd on the edge of their seats during the Sentebale Royal Salute Polo Cup on Saturday at Val de Vie Estate in Paarl - an annual charity event to raise funds for the charity he created in honour of the late Princess Diana.

The humble and undeniably handsome prince showed great skill on the field despite the blistering Paarl heat - but it seemed the Prince's pony picked up on his excitement too as Harry fell not once, but twice. Harry landed on the green and the second time he met the nervous guests with a delightful curtsy that had everyone cheering. A fellow player later mimicked him, falling off his pony too in a whatever-the-Prince-wants-we-do moment.

The team spirit was high as both teams stood equal before the final whistle. The game continued until the Royal Salute scored the final victory, beating the Prince's Sentebale team.

Prince Harry remarked it is wonderful to be in South Africa at the Val de Vie Estate. In a joint message in the official match programme with Sentebale co-founder Prince Seeiso of Lesotho, Harry said suport of the charity was vital and that the success of its previous five polo events has helped Sentebale make a real difference to the lives of vulnerable children in Lesotho.

"Every day children continue to lose their parents to the HIV/Aids epidemic. Sentebale works to protect and support these children providing them with basic necessities we take for granted: food, shelter, care and access to education."

To date the charity has raised donations amounting to over £1million (about R21 650 170 at R21,65/£).
