The 2019 holiday season will see high demand for toys inspired by Disney's new Frozen II movie, as well as Hatching Dragons, the LEGO Technic Stunt Racer, and the Nintendo Switch, according to Catherine Jacoby, marketing manager of Toys R Us and Babies R Us South Africa.
“We’re seeing a growing demand for toys which encourage kids to be more interactive, whether it’s stamp-and-style custom manicures with the Cool Maker GO GLAM Nail Stamper, or the Kumi Kreator breakthrough bracelet maker, or even the radio-controlled Platinum Drift King,” said Jacoby.
Toys R Us and Babies R Us South Africa revealed its annual “Geoffrey’s Top Toys 2019”, which showcases what the retailers think will be the hottest toys in the lead up to Christmas.
Some of the other most sought-after gifts this festive season are expected to be the Aquadabra Aquarium, FurReal Munchin Rex, the cute and fashionable Glitter Girls, Xshot Ninja Turbo Strike, and the Shox Foldable Drone.
Besides old favourites with new twists – such as the Monopoly "Cheaters Edition", the list also features a return of several bestselling toys from last year, such as LOL Surprise.
These toys are expected to top the sales charts for Christmas 2019.
