Black Friday 2018 came early this year: there are already a couple of deals that you can pursue as of Tuesday morning.

Woolworths

Today's new deal is you can get 30% off younger kids's fashion, footwear and accessories. In order to maximise some of your discounts, you will need to be a WRewards member or have a Woolworths card.

Woolworths is also continuing with 50% sale on 215 selected items of clothing, a 30% off two homeware products, as well as 20% off any two beauty products deals. 

Pick n Pay

Pick n Pay has already launched early Black Friday deals online in Gauteng and Western Cape.

It is also giving customers daily sneak peaks at what will be on sale over Black Friday: we now know that one of its favourite items, Nescafe Gold 200g coffee will be on sale for R60, usually priced R99.99. Other Black Friday deals will include discounts on TVs, washing powder and irons.

The retailer will offer consumers savings up to 50% on food, liquor, toiletries and other household products until November 25.

Builders Warehouse 

The DIY store kicked off its pre-Black Friday specials online. Today you can get 15% discounts on doors, built-in cupboards, and security doors. It also has a 20% off all automotive cleaning products.

The HiFi Corp is running with daily deals as well as a week-long catalogue. None of the pre-Black Friday deals will be repeated on the Black Friday, so if you see something you like get it now.

RunwaySale

The designer fashion online store RunwaySale started its Black Friday deals on Monday. Today you can get app-exclusive coupons of 10% (for any 2 items) and 20% (when you buy 3) off Madison, Triumph, PUMA, Polaroid, Wonderbra, Guess and Tommy Hilfiger.

Checkers (updated) 

Customers can sign up to receive a list of Checkers’ Black Friday deals ahead of time.

The retailer has promised to bring its customers the lowest supermarket prices, with up to 50% off across a range of categories including groceries, electronics, small appliances, toys and more. 

The company says it will angle its deals more toward  offering discounts on everyday essentials.

The deals on offer this year were therefore carefully selected to offer customers real, substantial savings, and extensive planning commences months in advance to ensure that Shoprite and Checkers are able to offer value to all its customers.

John Bradshaw, Pick n Pay’s head of marketing, said the retailer is aiming to have “bigger and better” deals and savings than ever before.

Shoprite (updated)

Shoprite also has promised customers its biggest Black Friday ever, with up to 50% off on selected products.

Its sale will take place on 23 November, with shoppers encouraged to sign up for access to deals ahead of time.

Woolworths is already launching daily online deals in the run-up to Black Friday. This is the first year that Woolworths will participate in Black Friday.

Toy Kingdom

The specialist retailer is due to release deal details on November 23.  

Toys R Us and Babies R Us (updated)

The toy store will be running deals on the top brands with up to 70% off. We do know that deals will extend to stores in Namibia, Zambia and Botswana.

“We know many of our customers look forward to our Black Friday deals every year, which allows them the opportunity to start shopping early and save big on some of the hot items of the season,” said Nicole Jansen Van Vuuren, marketing manager, Toys R Us and Babies R Us South Africa.

Their stores will be open from 8am till late.

In addition, Babies R Us will be offering deals on a wide selection of items.

Clicks

Clicks has launched a Pre-Black Friday Extravaganza from 16 November to 22 November (online only), that continues over the Black Friday weekend, in stores and online, and concludes with Cyber Week from 25 November to 2 December (online only). The deals are exclusive to ClubCard members and you will need to sign up. The company has also hinted it will be running a Facebook event with exclusive deals.

“We’re expecting a bumper Black Friday weekend and Cyber Week, with spectacular discounts on everything from technology and accessories, to beauty, electrical, health, household and baby items,” says Susann Caminada, Clicks spokesperson.

Game (updated)

Game's pre-Black Friday specials catalogue can be found here here. If the catalogue is anything to go by, Black Friday will be big. 

90 Game stores around the country (of its 145 stores in total) will open at midnight on Black Friday. The store chain announced it will be running deals which will be bigger and better than ever, including a warm up week which has already started.

Hi-Fi Corp (new)

Makro (updated)

Makro has announced it will run Black Friday specials over five days, from 21 November to 25 November, with over 26,000 lines on promotion. It will not be opening stores at midnight like last year.

OK Furniture and House & Home

Shoprite's furniture stores (OK Furniture and House & Home) will release their deals on 21 November. "Excellent savings" on electronics, furniture, bedding and appliances are promised. 

Sportsmans Warehouse (new)

There will be over 50 great deals on Garmin, New Balance, First Ascent, Capestorm and adidas products. 

If customers join the Sportsmans Warehouse rewards programme, they will gain early access to its Black Friday deals at 10:00am on Thursday the 22nd of November.

For everyone else deals will go live from 00:01 on Friday 23 November, and will be available in stores during regular operating hours.

Takealot

Takealot’s Blue Dot Sale runs for five days with discounts on Black Friday, the weekend after, as well as on Cyber Monday and "Takealot Tuesday". Some products will be discounted by up to 60%.

Khaliques (new)

Gentleman’s outfitter Khaliques says it will be running a 50% off sale off everything in its stores form Friday.

The store stocks brands like Carducci, Polo and Dielmar with the latest suits, shirts, shoes, chino’s and jackets. 

RunwaySale 

The store says it will be escalating discounts every day on thousands of designer fashion and accessory brands, culminating on Friday with an up to 80% off deal.

“Initially we weren’t particularly keen to be part of the Black Friday hype,”said Karl Hammerschmidt, CEO of e-retailer RunwaySale.

The store sells fashion brands at a discount all year, and you can expect brands like Charles & Keith, Madison, Steve Madden, G Couture, Guess, Poloraid, Marc Jacobs, Fossil Everlast, Asics, Puma, Timberland and Polo to be on sale.

Superbalist (updated)

Online clothing store Superbalist.com has super-sized its 2018 Black Friday sale to run for five days with deals of up to 70% off selected items. Their deals start on Black Friday and run till Tuesday 27 November.  

Shoppers are encouraged to build their wish-list in advance so that they can quickly check out. The store also recommends downloading its app to make the most of app-only deals.

The retailer has revealed daily "Why wait till Friday" deals on its online store.

On Monday it ran with a 30% off Studio.W clothing, 30% off 2 homeware products, 20% off any 2 beauty products. 

Zando

The era of bad hats, denim everything, “Friends” and phones that were made with the sole purpose of making and receiving calls, has inspired online retailer Zando’s Black Friday deals. It will run a 90% off sale on brands that were (and still are) the most influential from the 1990s. It also says it will be offering up to 70% off on big brands like Adidas and Puma.
