With a price tag of just shy of R1 million, it makes the most of Merc X Class technology: including dual climate control seats, upgraded eight-speaker infotainment and tyre pressure sensors.
What really got us excited is its 360-degree camera function called PARKTRONIC. Sensors on the front and back allows you to see real-time obstacles in 3D, and from a bird’s-eye view. It also simulates your tyre alignment and turn circle. Making it much easier to park this hulk of a car in a tight spot. The only thing missing for us was the limited adjusting options on the steering wheel.
But high-tech options include a built-in SIM card and a number of different driving modes, including Eco, Sport, Manual and Off-road.
The bakkie is built on a Nissan Navara body, with Merc finishes.
