These are the best snow scenes in South Africa right now – but you only have three days to go find them
More than 10 cm of snow fell in parts of the Eastern Cape, KwaZulu-Natal and Lesotho late Thursday evening and Friday morning, transforming the countryside into magical scenes.
Substantial snowfall occurred in the southern part of the country, and especially on the Lesotho mountains, where snowfall of more than 20cm is being reported, Wisani Maluleke, weather forecaster at WeatherSA’s Durban office, told Business Insider South Africa.
Snowfall is expected to cease by Friday afternoon.
“If low temperatures and weather conditions persist, the snow is expected to only start melting away after three days. But this is only a rough estimate,” Maluleke said.
He said no damage to public infrastructure was reported.
