Here at Business Insider South Africa we have been scouring the shelves, online and off, for the best Black Friday deals in 2018. That includes deals for the kitchen, deals from grocery stores, and some of the more unusual special discounts we've come across.
Now we bring you the best for the bedroom, and perhaps slightly beyond if you are feeling particularly adventurous.
Here are our favourite deals, so far, for bedroom devices and clothing for Black Friday 2018.
50% off everything in stock at Trishas Lingerie, including 'The Screaming O'
Trishas Lingerie has a 50% off sale on all its products in stock – including The Screaming O Lipstick Vibe, which normally sells R450 on its site and R475 elsewhere. (You need to use the code M3WJNCPAN5P2 when checking out.)
30% off the Satisfyer Pro 2 'air stimulator' from Désir
Désir Intimate Collection is running 30% specials on a range of its products, including the best-selling Satisfyer Pro 2 device, a high-tech, waterproof and contactless stimulator that uses air pressure, for R1,329.
30% off everything, including 'Christmas Carol covers' from Lollipop Lingerie
The Lollipop Lingerie specialist site is offering 30% off everything on the site, Friday only.
20% off selected products from Matildas
Matildas, "the really great sex company", is running specials on some of its best-sellers, including the Nova Dual Stimulator from the We-Vibe company, now R2,308. Matildas tells us that it will be on sale for R2,308 (as opposed to the regular R2,885 price) from midnight on Friday through at least the weekend.
20% off everything – including R30,000 life-sized dolls – from Crimson Black
Crimson Black is offering 20% off across its store for Black Friday, and confirmed to Business Insider South Africa that also applies to its top-end items, such as the R30,000 life-sized Valentina Ultimate Love Doll. (You have to pre-order in order to have it customised.)
20% off lingerie from Elite Occasions
Specialist clothing store Elite Occassions – which also deals in lines such as swimwear and cocktail dresses – is offering 20% off everything on the website for the Black Friday weekend, including its line of lingerie. That includes its super-specialised leather and PVC section.
Don't bother going here in search of Black-Friday-specific deals*
The Adult World chain is advertising "up to 50%" selected products on its website, but with no details, and on Thursday they were too busy to talk when we reached out.
Passionfruit, the "live a sexier life" store, is running an all-weekend Black Friday special – of R100 off any order. On some of its cheaper products that is a decent discount, but not so much when it comes to R2,000 vibrators.
* UPDATE: a previous version of this article listed “lingerie and lovestuff" store Bella Rouge as one of the sites not worth visiting for Black-Friday specific deals. We said its weekend special was for a free e-book with every purchase.
Although the site did offer that free ebook, the proprietor assures us it also offered 40%-off deals on a wide range of products on Black Friday, and for the weekend that follows. Business Insider apologises for omitting that. Bella Rouge would, in fact, have been worth a visit on Black Friday.
